STTOP

Sheriff’s Teen Traffic Offender Program
STTOP is an intervention program that encourages the community to call and report dangerous driving by teens. In the City of Thousand Oaks last year, six young people died in five serious traffic accidents. Each collision involved either speed or other dangerous driving behaviors on behalf of the teen driver.

We encourage people to call STTOP toll-free at 877-310-STOP, and leave information about a driver, the vehicle and the dangerous driving they have witnessed. After retrieving the information, a designated deputy sheriff will make personal contact with the offender and his or her parents in effort to correct the dangerous behavior. The goal of STTOP is not to prosecute offenders, but to make teens better, safer drivers, which in turns benefits our community.
