| | | Arts ReportIn July of 2008, the City of Thousand Oaks received a Draft Cultural Arts Review Report from professional arts consultants Jerry Allen & Associates. The purpose of this study was to address arts issues facing the City and to recommend improvements that would enhance the community's overall cultural arts programs and services.
Following completion of the Draft Consultant Report, a City Council ad-hoc committee comprised of Councilmembers Dennis Gillette and Andy Fox conducted exhaustive meetings with all affected stakeholders. These meetings focused on the best steps for practical implementation of the consultant recommendations. In June the Committee released their responses to part of the Draft Consultant Report concerning formation of a Cultural Affairs Commission and City Council approved those recommendations culminating in the seating of the first Cultural Affairs Commission.
The Ad Hoc Committee's final response and recommendations to the Draft Consultant Report is completed. Committee's report was sent to stakeholders previously participating in the process and the new Commission for review and comment. The Committee's report and entire 2008 Draft Cultural Arts Review Report is available below.
